Saint Louis Basketball: Takeaways from 3-0 start to 2021-22 season
They love to dunk
Saint Louis loves to get the ball into the paint and dunk it. Hargrove, Okoro, and Nesbitt will end up on a lot of high-light reels this season. Whether it is on a defensive breakout or within the set offense, the Billikens can get to the rim with flair and authority.
Those three are converting .571 of their shots. Even Jimmerson, who is known for his three-point shooting is getting in the paint and playing with an assertiveness not seen in his first two seasons at SLU.
Saint Louis’ attacking style is opening up the three-point shot. While they shot it poorly against EIU, they made nearly 50 percent of their long-distance attempts during their first two games.
While Linssen isn’t the high-flyer some of his teammates are, he is very efficient on the offensive end. After sitting most of the first half during Friday’s game with foul trouble, the German native ripped off 15 second-half points on a five of eight shooting performance. During this small sample size of a season, Linssen is making .722 of his shots and has made nine of his ten free-throw attempts.
SLU loves when the ball goes into the paint and they love to dunk and they accomplish their goals in a variety of ways.
