8. Oregon (5-5, 0-2)

-1 spot
Last week: Lost to Stanford 69-72
This week: Portland, Baylor

It may be time to draw the curtains for this act of the Ducks’ season. Dana Altman is one of the best in-season coaches in the country when it comes to tinkering and coaching up his guys to come together by tournament time. But this Ducks team has not shown the inclination to become one of those teams. Their evaluation has plummeted weekly and now sits at 0-2 against two perennial underachievers in Stanford and Arizona State.

Their offense has regressed substantially from last year and their defense has yet to truly make an impact as many had hoped with the additions of De’Vion Harmon and Quincy Guerrier. Eric Williams and Will Richardson seem to be their sole scoring threats.

7. Stanford (5-3, 1-1)

+1 spot
Last week: Defeated Oregon 72-69
This week: Dartmouth, Texas

The Cardinal move up the rankings after an ugly victory over the Ducks on Sunday. Stanford shot 43.9% from the field as a team and turned the ball over 17 times in the win. Freshman Harrison Ingram has been a bright spot for the team posting a 121.1 offensive rating and leading the team in points (12.5 per game), assists (3.6 per game), and rebounds (6.9 per game).

If head coach Jerod Haase can find something consistent from the guards to build with the frontcourt of Ingram, Jaiden Delaire, and Spencer Jones they may have something. But consistency has been lacking in Palo Alto for quite a while.
