Alabama Crimson Tide

Under head coach Nate Oats, the Crimson Tide has become one of the best programs that showcase point guards. Jahvon Quinerly has become a star there after transferring over from Villanova, while five-star JD Davison has has flashes of stardom in his first season. All point guards seem to excel at Alabama and it makes sense that Allen would be interested in joining the SEC program.

The only thing to note from a roster perspective is that they currently have a commitment from Jaden Bradley, a five-star point guard in the 2022 recruiting class. He’s projected as a “1 and Done” NBA Draft prospect but could stick around for another season when Allen would arrive. But Coach Oats has done well with two point guard lineups so that wouldn’t be a big issue either.

Arizona State Sun Devils

The Sun Devils will lose Toledo grad transfer, Marreon Jackson, after this season and he’s the only true point guard on the roster currently. The program does have a commitment from four-star commit Austin Nunez and he looks to get some playing time once he arrives for the 2022-23 season. Still, Allen could easily come in and start at Arizona State, a team needs to add more guard talent from what they currently have.

The problem here is that head coach Bobby Hurley is starting to get on the hot seat. The Sun Devils are 5-8 (1-2) on the season and are coming off a double-digit loss at Cal in Pac-12 play. If things continue to struggle for the program, there’s a chance he might not even be the coach by the start of next season, let alone by the time Allen would potentially arrive on campus.
