Bracketology 2022: Oregon, Marquette, and Auburn among latest winners

Marquette
This season, the Big East is as deep as it has ever been since the conference reformed back in 2013. A handful of this conference’s teams have already been ranked this season, while others have had their own moments in the sun. Marquette got an impressive win over Illinois and started the season 5-0, but had taken a bit of a step back in recent weeks. Now, they’re trending in a great direction once again.
The Golden Eagles entered the week having won a pair of games, and ran their winning streak to four with two more nice wins. They got an 87-76 win over DePaul on Tuesday, getting 25 points from Greg Elliott. They faced a heftier challenge on Saturday but managed a 73-72 win over a solid Seton Hall squad, led by a 26-point performance from Darryl Morsell.
It’s uncertain at this point exactly how many teams the Big East is going to send to the NCAA Tournament, but it might be a big number, especially with how leagues like the ACC and Pac-12 have fared to this point in the season. With that big win over Illinois in their pocket, Marquette is certainly in that conversation and are certainly getting on the right side of the bubble with their current four game win streak. There are good vibes for the Golden Eagles, but an onslaught awaits them with some tough Big East games in the next three weeks.
