Who is the team who is currently not in the dance, but can get hot the rest of the way and make the tournament? – Danny McCormick (@danny_mac1219)

There are a lot of teams who would fit into this category this season. There are going to be a ton of teams playing their way onto the bubble that was not previously there over the next few weeks. Also, don’t forget that it only takes one weekend of great basketball for some of these teams to get themselves into the tournament. Championship week is coming and there are going to be 32 automatic bids handed out.

This team is going to have a ton of work to do as they have not played well up to this point in the season but have the talent and the opportunities to find themselves on the bubble with a good February. The Wolf Pack have the best scoring guard in the Mountain West in Grant Sherfield they also have a good center in 7’0″ Oregon State transfer Warren Washington. Nevada also has a great second guard in Brown transfer Desmond Cambridge Jr., he can get going much like Sherfield can and change a game in favor of the Wolf Pack.

The Mountain West is a really tough conference to try and make a run, but I had Nevada ranked in the preseason Mid Major top 10 for a reason, they have a great roster with a lot of firepower, and while head coach Steve Alford isn’t the best coach he has assembled an extremely talented roster who is dangerous in the Mountain West.

The only problem right now is their metrics are terrible. They have zero quad one wins, although they have a chance to rack up a bunch by the time the season is over, they also have a NET in the 160 range which is nowhere near where it needs to be for an at-large bid.

I don’t know if Nevada ever figures it out or if they continue to be the inconsistent team that has plagued them all year, but they have the ability to make a run to the NCAA tournament.
