NCAA Basketball: Dayton, Texas, Nevada, and Southern Utah headline Sunday Mailbag

Who do I like this coming Monday in the Big Sky Battle of Utah- Weber State or Southern Utah? – Rocco Miller (@RoccoMiller8)
Monday night will be the battle of the two teams who are likely headed for a collision course in the Big Sky title game or at the very least the two teams who are going to finish at the top of the standings in the league. Weber State is one of the most historic programs in the NCAA. They are top 25 in wins overall and have the biggest win of any Big Sky school when they upset North Carolina in the NCAA basketball tournament.
Southern Utah is a team that is new to success. They were a dominant force last season for most of the Big Sky season and then lost in the conference tournament ending their year. They were pegged to be a dominant force again this year given what they had returning and how they bolstered the roster using the transfer portal. The Thunderbirds are good but they are not nearly as good as we all made them out to be in the preseason.
Weber State and Southern Utah both average about 80 points per game. Each team has a star who is going to is going to carry them each night. This game is at Southern Utah and given their 7-1 record at home and the way they dominate at home in the league give me the Thunderbirds over the Weber State Wildcats in a close one. A win by Southern Utah would put them in sole possession of first place.
Do not sleep on Weber State though in this game they are extremely capable of beating Southern Utah at home, and will be the biggest challenge the Thunderbirds face in the conference every night. This should be a good game. If you like high scoring, run up and down the floor mid-major basketball, this is the game for you. If you like to bet, take the overs.
