9. Duke (17-3)

There have been a few hiccups, but throughout the time we all know to expect Duke near or at the top of the college basketball world, and this is certainly the premiere team in today’s ACC. The Blue Devils continue their sprint towards another league title in Mike Krzyzewski’s final season leading the troops in Durham. This past week, they got two more nice wins to continue that push.

First off, they managed a 71-69 home win over Clemson, getting 19 points from Paolo Banchero and surviving with some timely 3-point shooting. The weekend gave another thrilling game, with the Blue Devils pulling away Saturday for a 74-65 road win at Louisville. They got 22 points from A. J. Griffin and spoiled the head coaching debut for Mike Pegues of the Cardinals, pushing their own winning streak back up to three games.

There are some solid teams in the ACC, and the league will likely put a number of teams in the NCAA Tournament, but at this point, it’s hard to find someone to really compete with the Blue Devils. Nevertheless, Duke keeps chugging along, playing solid basketball and getting some nice performances from their young studs. A more challenging week awaits, with road tests at Notre Dame and North Carolina.
