24. Texas (16-5)

You’re not going to find a better conference than the Big 12 this season, especially with how any team in this league is a threat on any given night. Texas really started out hot before cooling off as conference play began. Fortunately, the tide seems to be turning back around for the Longhorns, who had themselves a fantastic week.

The Longhorns got the week started in impressive fashion with one of their best performances of the entire season, a 73-50 road win at TCU. Timmy Allen had 16 points, while Courtney Ramey had 14 of his own. Texas held on for another impressive win on Saturday, toppling Tennessee 52-51 for their third straight win; Ramey’s 17 points led the Longhorns again.

Texas is back on track with these wins, and sitting pretty at 5-3 in the Big 12. The Longhorns defense has played outstanding at times this season, and it’s really started playing a role on this current streak, giving up no more than 51 points in these three wins. Unfortunately for the Longhorns, they have quite the onslaught upcoming, starting with a road trip to Texas Tech and a home date with Iowa State; child’s play compared to the following week…
