NBA Draft 2022: 5 Big Ten basketball players improving their draft stock
6-foot-7 junior E.J. Liddell, Wing/Forward, Ohio State Buckeyes
E.J. Liddell is a versatile wing/forward prospect that’s raised his profile a ton with Ohio State basketball in the Big Ten this season. He was pivotal in the Buckeyes near-comeback victory on Sunday afternoon as he tied things up at 78 with 26 seconds left in regulation. He scored the final eight points for the Ohio State basketball offense as they made things interesting in a 3-point loss to top-ranked Purdue.

Liddell is an impressive name in the Big Ten basketball ranks that plays a big, physical brand of basketball with his 6-foot-7, 240-pound frame, and with his three-level scoring ability, he’s an intriguing versatile threat in this year’s NBA Draft class.
He’s posted career-high numbers shooting, scoring, and rebounding the basketball for the Buckeyes in 2021-22, with 19.6 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 2.8 apg, and 2.7 bpg while shooting 52.1 percent from the field and 41.0 percent from 3-point range. His underrated ability to protect the rim on defense should be coveted by NBA teams as well.
Liddell uses his length and ability on both ends in a variety of ways, giving him quite the potential as a solid first-round selection in this year’s NBA Draft. He certainly proved today he can take over games when it’s time to step up and should continue to raise his stock through the next two months.
