Creighton Bluejays (13-8) (5-5 Big East)

Creighton basketball looks to make a return to the 2022 NCAA Tournament but they could have work to do on their resume at 5-5 in Big East basketball play.  There’s zero room for error if the Bluejays hope to make it back-to-back appearances in the Big Dance.

The Bluejays have four players averaging double-figures in scoring in their rotation, giving them some depth when it comes to the offensive side of the ball. Freshman guard Ryan Nembhard is putting up 10.3 ppg, 3.2 apg, and 3.0 rpg as their leading playmaker.

Alex O’Connell leads their scoring attack with 13.7 ppg at 43.9 percent shooting from 3-point land. He leads the team in 3-pointers made per game with 2.5. Ryan Hawkins (11.3 ppg) and Ryan Kalkbrenner (10.0 ppg) are their other double-figure scorers and the biggest contributors in the frontcourt for Creighton basketball.

The Bluejays’ resume needs a bit of a boost given their 4-5 record against Quadrant I squads and 0-2 record against Quadrant II squads. With a combined 9-1 record against Quadrant III and IV teams, Creighton basketball will need to find some wins in the final stretch of their conference slate with Marquette, Providence, UConn, and Seton Hall still on the schedule.
