Colorado State Rams (17-3) (7-3 MWC)

Mountain West basketball hasn’t been one to sleep on as Colorado State basketball has shown this season. They avenged an early-season loss to San Diego State with a win this past Friday but they’re a squad that will need to go unscathed in the month of February to make the NCAA Tournament.

Isaiah Stevens (15.2 ppg) and David Roddy (17.1) are the two leading names to know with the Rams in conference play. Both are shooting over 40 percent from 3-point range with Roddy as 48.3 percent per game and Stevens at 40.9 percent as a top sharpshooting duo in the MWC basketball ranks.

As a team, they rank ninth in NCAA basketball in field goal percentage (49.1) with an all-around scoring attack that’s worked for them, at least until recently. They’ve lost two of their last three contests heading into February.

With a chance to avenge losses to UNLV (2/19) and Wyoming (2/23) coming up on the schedule, the Rams have a chance to improve their NCAA Tournament resume as March approaches. They’re 2-2 against Quadrant I squads and 3-0 against Quadrant II squads with one loss to a Quadrant III squad. Securing a few more Q1 wins would be productive to their cause.
