Boise State Broncos (MWC)

Boise State basketball is a well-rounded group that’s taken MWC basketball and mid-major basketball by storm and looks to do similar with an appearance as an at-large in this year’s NCAA Tournament field.

Marcus Shaver and Abu Kigab are the two senior names to know with the Broncos. Shaver is averaging 13.0 ppg, 3.1 rpg, and 1.4 apg in conference action on 37.3 percent shooting from 3-point range. Kigab is putting 12.8 ppg, 6.1 rpg, and 2.5 apg on 45.7 percent shooting from the floor.

On the interior, 6-foot-10 big man Mladen Armus has emerged as quite the paint protector for the Broncos. He ranks fifth in MWC basketball in total blocks (26) while swatting 1.0 per contest.

Freshman forward Tyson Degenhart has emerged in the starting lineup with his production. He’s produced 10.1 ppg and 3.5 rpg across 23 appearances (17 starts) while shooting 51.9 percent from the field and 43.1 percent from behind the arc. His presence in the rotation has been another bright spot for Boise State basketball.

The Broncos have won 14 of 15 games since starting the season 3-4 under head coach Leon Rice. Now, they’re 9-1 and the top team in MWC basketball as they look to make their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2015.
