6-foot freshman Kennedy Chandler, Point Guard, Tennessee Volunteers

Kennedy Chandler is a seasoned freshman point guard with Tennessee basketball that looks poised to make the leap to the NBA. He’s another top prospect in this year’s NBA Draft class with his ability to make things happen with the ball in his hands.

The first-year floor general has looked good in his debut season, posting 13.5 ppg, 5.0 apg, 3.0 rpg, and 2.5 spg while shooting 44.2 percent from the field and 32.5 percent from 3-point land.

He does well to get to his spots all over the floor, especially in the paint, and puts constant pressure on the defense with his court vision.

Chandler recently posted a double-double (11 pts, 10 asts) in the Volunteers’ victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks back on Feb. 5. He’s dished out 10 assists twice this season.

His speed and quickness have also allowed him to excel on the defensive side of the ball. His 90.3 defensive rating ranks 13th in SEC basketball this season while he ranks eighth in NCAA basketball and second in SEC basketball in total steals (54).

Tennessee basketball finds itself on a 3-game winning streak thanks to Chandler’s leadership at the point guard role. He’s climbing up the radar with his play.
