6. UConn Huskies

The Huskies are a top-25 team this season, led by an experienced roster of players and a breakout sophomore in Adama Sanogo (14.9 ppg and 8.2 rpg). He’s not an NBA Draft candidate so the team should look forward to him coming back. However, the senior forwards (Tyler Polley, Isaiah Whaley) will be gone and former top-100 prospect Akok Akok is a reported transfer candidate this offseason.

They do have top-50 forward Donovan Clingan coming to reload the frontcourt but they’ll have to replace leading scorer RJ Cole (16.2 ppg and 4.5 apg), as well starting wing Tyrese Martin unless he opts to take a fifth year. Will be a lot of pressure on Andre Jackson and Jordan Hawkins to take a leap in their production next season for the Huskies to avoid a fall-off but compared to the rest of this bracket, they’ll be an underdog in some potential mismatches.

5. North Carolina Tar Heels

The upcoming roster moves this offseason for the Tar Heels aren’t going to feature many surprises. All-ACC sophomores, Armando Bacot and Caleb Love are almost certainly to go pro, while Brady Manek has no more eligibility. There are also some rumors about whether or not Dawson Garcia will return to the team next season as well.

That would leave RJ Davis as the projected lone returning starter for the team. They have a solid incoming recruiting class, led by top-30 forward Jalen Washington but they’ll need to add a few more pieces before they’re a certain top-25 team. There are also some questions about head coach Hubert Davis, considering the lack of quality wins this season so can he do better with likely less talent around?
