16. Wisconsin (20-5)

Try to figure this one out: the Badgers got an awesome road win at Michigan State last week only to lose at home to Rutgers four days later. These Big Ten games are battles and many of them could go either way, but the run of success for the Scarlet Knights certainly surprised the Badgers, handing them their most unexpected loss of the season.

This week, the Badgers got back on track, winning a 74-69 game on the road at Indiana, notching a second consecutive important road win in conference play. The Badgers trailed most of the game, but got a heroic 30 points and 12 rebounds from Johnny Davis to battle for the hard-fought win. Brad Davison played a major role as well, scoring 21 points and certainly frustrating the Hoosiers in the process.

Wisconsin is now 11-4 in a very tough Big Ten and is absolutely still in a position where they could win this conference title. The road ahead is not easy, rematches with Purdue and Rutgers loom in the future, but when they are at their best and making shots, it’s hard for anyone to stop these Badgers (just ask Houston, Marquette, Ohio State…). Next week they welcome Michigan before a pair of tricky road games at Minnesota and Rutgers, though all three are certainly winnable.
