20. Connecticut (19-7)

The Huskies are holding their own in a tough Big East in what might be Dan Hurley’s best season since taking over four seasons ago. There’s still plenty of time to tell how good of a season this will be, but these Huskies are certainly trending towards a team that can cause some damage in the postseason; and we don’t mean in just the conference tournament.

This last week the Huskies were back in the winning column again, starting with a solid 70-65 home win over Seton Hall. The offense was steady, while Adama Sanogo starred with 20 points and 16 rebounds, a marvelous effort at home. The Huskies ran their winning streak to three games with a 72-61 home win against Xavier, this time getting 15 points and 9 rebounds from Sanogo. The Huskies were boosted by 16 points from both R. J. Cole and Tyler Polley.

Once again, the Huskies are trending in the right direction, especially after these two wins over solid conference foes. Connecticut avenged a pair of earlier losses and continued to build onto a solid resume that includes wins over Auburn and twice against Marquette. Next week is no joke, as the Huskies look for revenge against a very tough Villanova squad before the final stretch of conference play.
