8. Baylor +1500

Baylor is an interesting team. After last year’s dominant run through March Madness, they are back with yet another strong team and a chance to do it again. Scott Drew has built a program that will be at the forefront of the college basketball landscape for years to come.

Adam Flagler leads the way for the Bears. He averages 13.7 PPG and shoots 40.4% from beyond the arc. He was key in Baylor’s overtime win versus Oklahoma State on Monday night when he scored 29 points.

While they are an extremely solid team, I think Baylor is +1500 for a reason here. I personally cannot see them winning the title this year.

The first stat that caught my eye was that they are a below-average free throw shooting team. They shoot free throws collectively at just 70.8%, which is below the national average. I do not think it is smart to back a team to make a deep tournament run when they don’t shoot more efficiently from the line.

I wouldn’t be totally surprised if they proved me wrong, but I don’t think Baylor will be able to get back to the National Championship and win it.
