6. Arkansas Razorbacks

The Razorbacks had a tough road game earlier in the week against Florida, a team on the bubble that desperately needed a win. But although the game was close, Arkansas was able to win by eight, thanks to 22 points from JD Notae and 15 points and 10 rebounds from Jaylin Williams. And while he’s had his struggles on the season overall, Devo Davis had a big 19 points off the bench.

Notae’s emergence into an All-American candidate has come at the perfect time, going for 30 points and eight assists in the big home win over a top-10 Kentucky squad. It’s the fourth straight win overall and 13 of the last 14, coming all of the way back from a rough start in SEC play all the way to a top-3 seed. LSU and Tennessee remain before postseason action.

5. Baylor Bears

The Bears went from one of the deepest teams in the country to one without much depth now thanks to injuries, including starting guard LJ Cryer being out this week. Oklahoma State nearly took advantage at home earlier in the week, taking Baylor to overtime. The favorites were able to prevail late with the 66-64 win, thanks to 29 points from Adam Flagler.

The team took their attention to the top team in the Big 12 this weekend, in what was a back-and-forth affair with the Kansas Jayhawks. But Baylor was able to pull away at the end for the 80-70 win. The top six rotation players all had at least nine points in the effort, led by 19 points and nine rebounds from Flo Thamba.

The win over Kansas now has them in range to potentially tie the Jayhawks in the Big 12 standings this upcoming week. The Bears have games against both Texas and Iowa State and a pair of wins could vault them to the top of the standings.
