PAC-12

Winner: Oregon Ducks

Oregon has yet to play their best basketball and they have yet to reach their lofty expectations that they had coming into the year. Are we ready to write off Dana Altman and the Ducks?  Oregon has been in a worse position heading into the Championship Week festivities, that Oregon team won the tournament and made the sweet 16 to boot.

The Ducks are too talented of a team to sit the tournament out. Oregon has already shown this year what it is capable of when they beat UCLA and USC in consecutive games. Oregon is its own worst enemy when they play like they are capable; they are one of the best teams in the country.

Duck fans should not worry as Oregon plays really well in the league tournament and are going to win it again and find themselves in the NCAA tournament like we all thought they would be. Will Richardson has filled in admirably for Peyton Pritchard and runs the Duck offense.

Sleeper: Washington State Cougars

I am a lot higher on Washington State than really anyone. The Cougars are well-coached and have three big men who can compete with anyone. Washington State is not going to make the tournament as an at-large and their downfall has been that they have a hard time finishing games. They have played much of the league’s top teams close and are close to their breakthrough.

Head coach Kyle Smith has turned the program around quickly and has Washington State on the cusp of a tournament bid. Washington State may not win the tournament, but they are going to play a lot of top teams close and give themselves a chance at the end. South Alabama transfer Michael Flowers leads the charge for the Cougars.
