Teams in the field of 68: Boise State, Colorado State, San Diego State, Wyoming

The top four teams mentioned above are securely in the field of 68 and will be hearing their names called come Selection Sunday. For the Broncos, Rams, Aztecs, and Cowboys, they now are just looking to improve their overall seedings in the NCAA Tournament.

There are a lot of different sites and bracketology experts out there these days, but the majority of them have all four of the teams comfortably in the NCAA Tournament to be in the six to twelve range for seeding at the moment. Wyoming is probably the closest of the teams to being on the “bubble”, but still feel they are clearly in the field.

Bubble Watch: None

Coming into the first week of March, San Diego State found themselves teetering on if they would be getting into the NCAA Tournament, but had a big win on the road at Wyoming, and able to pull it out in double overtime over Fresno State and against Nevada to go 3-0 on the week and finish off the regular season strong.

What was hurting San Diego State was besides their win over Saint Mary’s on a neutral floor, and home win against Colorado State, they did not have much else that stood out to the experts. The wins this past week helped moved themselves from being on the bubble to be in the field comfortably heading into the Mountain West Conference Tournament.

Even without that huge win on the road at Wyoming I still felt this San Diego State team belonged in the NCAA Tournament. Before their strong showing last week San Diego State would have probably had to get to the semifinals to punch their ticket into March Madness, but that is not the case anymore. The Aztecs are an NCAA Tournament team.
