Kansas Jayhawks – Big 12

Record: 28-6 and 14-4 in Conference

Location: Lawrence, Kansas

Colors: Blue and Crimson

Last Appearance: 2020-2021

Kansas does not need much of an introduction. They are one of the premier programs in college basketball every year. They are in the running for a top seed every year and this year is no different. The Jayhawks are a National Title contender this year a top seed. The Jayhawks are going to go far because they have tremendous guard play this year, that is not something that can be said every year.

This is the best Kansas team that head coach Bill Self has had in a long time. Ochai Agbaji is one of the finalists for the Wooden award and he is likely going to be on the all-tournament team. The Jayhawks are going to be a trendy pick to cut down the nets.

Boise State Broncos – Mountain West

Record: 27-7 and 15-3 in Conference

Location: Boise, Idaho

Colors: Blue and Orange

Last Appearance: 2014-2015

The Mountain West was exceptional this year, with four bids into the NCAA tournament. Boise State was expected to be good, but no one saw them being this good it was all about Colorado State and San Diego State in the league and the Broncos won both the regular season and the tournament.

The Broncos play at one of the slowest paces in the country and have a 6’8″ point guard in Emmanuel Akot. Boise State like every other team in the Mountain West does it all on the defensive end. The Broncos slow teams down even further forcing teams to play in the half-court and make it terribly hard with their length on the perimeter to get many good looks at the basket.

The Broncos are a matchup problem for a lot of teams and are going to keep any game close. Keep an eye on the Broncos as they are battle-tested and have beaten a lot of good teams.
