48. Chris Mooney (Richmond)

2 NCAA Tournaments (2-2)

It took 11 years, but Mooney finally got Richmond back to the NCAA Tournament, though much has happened since leading the Spider to the Sweet Sixteen way back in 2011. Mooney has won over 300 games on the Richmond sidelines since 2005, and this year’s A-10 Tournament propelled his team finally back to the Big Dance.

47. Leon Rice (Boise State)

2 NCAA Tournaments (0-2)

Rice has the Broncos dancing again, their first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2014, after winning the MWC Tournament. Rice gained key experience in eleven years under Mark Few at Gonzaga and has done a solid job building and maintaining this Boise State program. The Broncos have finished top 5 in the MWC in all but two of his eleven seasons and should continue to be a near-perennial contender in one of the nation’s best mid-major leagues.

46. Scott Nagy (Wright State)

4 NCAA Tournaments (0-4)

Nearly thirty years into his head coaching career, Nagy has struck gold yet again. He spent more than two decades building South Dakota State into a D1 contender after a ton of D2 Tournament bids. At Wright State since 2016, he’s now leading the Raiders to a second NCAA Tournament under his watch, and has this program as a regular contender in the Horizon League, winning either the regular season or conference title each of the last five seasons.

45. Chris Jans (New Mexico State)

2 NCAA Tournaments (0-2)

It’s been smooth sailing for the most part for Jans at New Mexico State, winning yet another WAC Tournament with the Aggies. The former assistant to Porter Moser and Gregg Marshall had some solid stints at many colleges but has now led the Aggies to four WAC regular-season titles and three NCAA Tournaments already.
