Arizona Sun Devils

The Sun Devils already were going to look for more frontcourt help this offseason with Kimani Lawrence out of eligibility but the need became more clear after Jalen Graham (9.9 ppg and 4.3 rpg) elected to enter the transfer portal. That leaves backups Alonzo Gaffney and former top-40 recruit Enoch Boayke on the roster and unless the center has a breakout sophomore season, this team will need to find a big man soon to compete in the Pac-12 next season.

Head coach Bobby Hurley will be back next season but he’s on the hottest of seats right now and needs instant impact transfers that’ll be effective right away. Aimaq would be the best possible pickup for Arizona State and in return, the big man would have 30 mpg available without much competition in the Pac-12., while also being a key part of the offense.

BYU Cougars

When 6’10 big men Gavin Baxter and Richard Harward went down for the season, the Cougars went on a downward spiral that ended up in the NIT. It wasn’t as if Fousseyni Traoré and Atiki Ally Atiki didn’t show promise as freshmen but not only were they very raw but being 6’7 and 6’8 at center position allowed them to be exploited against the bigger teams.

Although Coach Mark Pope had already left Utah Valley by the time Aimaq arrived, the close proximity of the two programs and the fact they play each other annually gives BYU a chance to make a move on adding more size and experience upfront. Coach Pope landed Purdue transfer Matt Haarms before so maybe they can score another big name in the portal this time around too.
