Confidence

There may not be a more confident team in the country right now than the Saint Peter’s Peacocks. Head coach Shaheen Holloway has had numerous quotes regarding where his team has come from to get here. Guard Doug Edert and his mustache have made waves around America. Daryl Banks III has been killing it scoring-wise.

The team is playing out of its mind and it’s been working. Saint Peter’s was the worst KenPom offensive efficient team in the NCAA Tournament by a mile and only scored 70 or more points eight times out of 20 MAAC conference games, yet scored that in the team’s two tournament games so far. After shooting 35.5% from three, that number is up to 40% in the tournament.

The Peacocks have found something offensive that it has never really had throughout the season and that is due to the confidence it has gained, as the team has felt like it can play with anyone on any stage. For Saint Peter’s to win against Purdue that confidence needs to stay sky high.
