Baylor Bears

The Bears have done a good job addressing the frontcourt needs this offseason, landing a pair of combo forwards in Jalen Bridges of Baylor and Caleb Lohner of BYU. But with guards Adam Flagler and LJ Cryer still in the NBA Draft process, there could be more room available for another wing to join and provide an instant impact.

Coach Scott Drew has sent three-star prospects and mid-major transfers to the NBA for the while and has only started getting five-star recruits out of high school. The developmental ability of the Bears is clear and Baldwin would benefit from their structure, while also having a big role in the offense. Plus, he’d be part of a clear-cut Final Four contender.

Duke Blue Devils

There’s no question that I had to put the other reported finalist for Baldwin’s services last time around. He’d be playing for Jon Scheyer instead of Coach K this time around but the team once again has a No. 1 recruiting class and preseason top-10 talent overall.

But besides the history, the Blue Devils do have a spot for Baldwin in the starting lineup after both Trevor Keels and Wendell Moore left for the NBA Draft. Incoming five-star prospect Dariq Whitehead could start at the shooting guard position, while Baldwin would be at his natural small forward spot. He’d be surrounded by much better talent and get to be on a national stage. Could be his chance to make up for what looked like a mistake of a past choice.
