12. UCLA Bruins

2021-22 record: 27-8 (15-5 in Pac-12)

The Bruins had a number of players with pending NBA Draft decisions and we’ve got the answers on almost all of them. Leading scorer Johnny Juzang is off to the pros, along with big man Myles Johnson. Maybe the most surprising move was former five-star wing prospect Peyton Watson leaving for the NBA despite playing limiting minutes for the team.

Among those returning includes Jaime Jaquez, who averaged 13.9 ppg and 5.7 rpg as the team’s versatile two-way wing. And starting point guard Tyger Campbell is also coming back as well. The status of Jules Bernard is still a question but if he returns, that’s another 13 ppg of offense UCLA can rely on next season.

Although the Bruins haven’t landed any transfers, they do have a pair of five-star freshmen coming in. Adem Bona is a 6’10 center that has a higher ceiling than Bona on both ends and should start alongside Cody Riley. And Amari Bailey may be the best combo guard in the entire freshman class and can replace Juzang in the lineup and play alongside Campbell in the backcourt.

UCLA may have had “too much depth” on the roster last season but still has plenty leftover, assuming that the freshmen can have a big impact early on. The loss of Juzang hurts but Jaquez and Campbell are fully capable of keeping them as a Pac-12 title contender.
