2. Baylor

It was a dream come true when Scott Drew led this Baylor program to their first national championship in 2021; thus it was a bit disappointing getting knocked out in the second round of this past Tournament. Still, Drew has built Baylor into a national contender and they will absolutely be able to knock heads again this season, even with some big roster changes.

There are some big pieces from last year gone, but Adam Flagler and LJ Cryer both return, having both averaged greater than 13 points per game last season. Getting Cryer back from injury is a huge addition in itself, while the Bears will also add 5-star guard Keyonte George, one of the nation’s top recruits. The Bears also nabbed former West Virginia wing Jalen Bridges and will expect additional steps forward from players like Flo Thamba and Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua.

The top of the Big 12 is loaded with talent and Baylor is a prime example of that. The recent champions have a very different roster, but what’s the same is the depth and talent on this team. If this team avoids injuries this year, then this deep rotation boasts enough talent to make another run at national glory, let alone knocking Kansas off that perch for themselves.
