NBA Draft 2022: Final mock draft predictions of all 58 picks
47. Memphis Grizzlies – David Roddy (Colorado State Rams)
The Mountain West Player of the Year was an all-around offensive star with the Rams, capable of spreading the floor and scoring both inside and out. But his “tweener” status as a combo forward hurts him a bit at the next level. He may have to play at the undersized power forward but is physical and aggressive enough to be a nice fit for Memphis and be a chance of pace from the bouncy Brandon Clarke in the frontcourt for them.
48. Minnesota Timberwolves – Scotty Pippen (Vanderbilt Commodores)
Patrick Beverly one could argue was the heart and soul of the Timberwolves and his defense is needed on that team. But it’s also apparent that his lack of offense is a concern. That’s where the son of NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen can come in. He averaged 20.6 ppg and 4.7 apg in the past two years and is a quality scorer. If he can do half of that at the next level, Minnesota’s backcourt would benefit.
49. Sacramento Kings – Alondes Williams (Wake Forest Demon Deacons)
Although he’s not much of a shooter, the 6’5 playmaker showed he can be a point guard, coming off a breakout season where he won ACC Player of the Year. Sacramento could use him in the rotation either alongside Fox or behind him on the bench. If his defense improves, I could see him being a fit there.
