NBA Draft 2023: Victor Wembanyama leads way-too-early mock draft
17. Leonard Miller (SF) – G League Ignite
Miller was a 6-foot-5 guard for most of high school but has grown nearly half a foot over the last two years, making him an intriguing forward prospect at this point. The 18-year-old Canadian withdrew from this year’s NBA Draft fairly late, announcing that he will play this upcoming season with the G League Ignite. Miller has maintained many of his guard skills which are his most intriguing draw. A 6-foot-10 forward with guard skills will always draw the attention of scouts, and rightfully so.
16. Kyle Filipowski (PF/C) – Duke
Duke had five players drafted in the 2022 NBA Draft including three in the lottery led by No. 1 overall pick Paolo Banchero. Filipowsk is the No. 4 recruit in the 247Sports Composite and the first of three more projected lottery picks out of Duke in 2023. Filipowski is a versatile 6-foot-11 big who can easily handle either power forward or center duties in the modern game. He can handle the ball extremely well for his size and is an excellent shooter with range.
Defensively, he’s a bit of an enigma as someone who is not a true rim protector, so his lateral quickness will need to improve for him to move up into top 10 territory. Still, his skill and versatility offensively are impossible to ignore and should make him a lottery pick in 2023.
