NCAA Basketball: 10 best players from state of Delaware of last decade

7. Khallid Hart – Marist
A talented 6’2 guard from Newark, Hart starred at the same high school as the previously mentioned Cooney, though Hart didn’t have the same attention on him on the recruiting trail. In the end, Hart wound up at Marist, becoming a four-year starter for the Red Foxes between 2013 and 2017. While the Marist program wasn’t winning conference titles or doing superb things as a team, Hart still put up some pretty solid numbers.
Hart started all but one of the 110 games in his Marist career, and averaged 14.3 points per game as both a freshman and a sophomore. In each of his final two seasons, he shot better than 36% from long range, better than 50% from short range. He averaged 20.3 points per game as a junior, the second-most in the MAAC that season. Among his impactful performances was a 37-point, 5-steal outing in a win against Brown during that high-scoring juniors season.
The MAAC Rookie of the Year as a freshman, Hart was twice named to the All-MAAC Second Team and played a starring role on this Marist squad. He still ranks in the Top 5 in Marist history in career points and accumulated a significant number of steals in his career as well. After leaving the college game, he spent some time overseas playing basketball in France, though his days with the Red Foxes were clearly some of his best basketball.
