18. Michigan Wolverines

Strength: Frontcourt depth

Michigan is automatically a contender in the Big Ten, just by returning All-American center Hunter Dickinson. He’s a great security blanket for the offense, and there’s plenty of depth besides him. Tarris Reed is his backup and a top-50 incoming freshman, while Youssef Khayat is an interesting international prospect to watch.

Add rising sophomores Terrence Williams and Will Tschetter at the four-spot and the Wolverines certainly won’t be deprived in the frontcourt. They won’t have to fully rely on Dickinson to do everything offensively and will take pressure off of the backcourt.

Weakness: True PG play

The team has been using the Ivy League to find their lead guards recently with Jaelin Llewellyn, a transfer from Princeton, set to start for them at point guard. He led the team with 15.7 ppg last season but only averaged 2.5 apg. That includes just six games of more than 3+ assists last season and he was inefficient at times when shooting the ball.

Llewellyn is a solid option but he could struggle when it comes to distributing and running the offense. And the only other ball-handling option on the roster is four-star freshman Dug McDaniel, who may not be ready yet for big minutes. It’s the position of question for the Wolverines.
