Michigan Wolverines

The Wolverines are another program that “potentially” has room at the power forward position. The reason why I phrased it like that is both players who primarily played at that spot, Caleb Houstan, and Moussa Diabate is now gone. That leaves a trio of candidates around that’ll get extended minutes this year in returning forwards, Terrence Williams and Will Tschetter, along with top-100 freshman, Youssef Khayat.

If any of these three breaks out (but not enough to go pro), Michigan will have its starting forward set and High can still get minutes as a backup early on. Plus, his ability to space the floor would a nice compliment to center Hunter Dickinson if he’s around for another year. The program is also going after another top-50 prospect in Papa Kante but he can play the five-stop so it shouldn’t affect High here.

North Carolina Tar Heels

With former five-star commit GG Jackson now out of the picture, the Tar Heels are looking elsewhere for their power forward in the 2023 class. Northwestern transfer Pete Nance has only one year left of eligibility, while star big man Armando Bacot likely won’t be back after next season either.

UNC does have top-75 freshman power forward Jalen Washington on the current roster, along with four-star forward Tyler Nickel as well. After making it to the national title game in his first season, head coach Hubert Davis has plenty of credibility on the recruiting trail. And with room available as well on the future roster, the Tar Heels have a really compelling offer.
