New Faces

Taking a look at the incoming freshman and transfers, which new faces are set to join those names mentioned previously to round out Kansas Basketball’s 2022-23 roster?

Gradey Dick

A five-star prospect, Dick comes to Kansas as the biggest name in a Jayhawks 2022 recruiting class that ranked fourth-best nationally. The 6-foot-8 forward is one of the top three-point shooters in the entire 2022 class, and should make a significant impact for the Jayhawks this season as one of the top freshman in the Big 12.

Kevin McCullar Jr

An experienced player in the Big 12, McCullar transferred to Kansas from Texas Tech during the offseason where he started in a combined 49-of-78 games across the past three seasons. An instant impact player for the Jayhawks, McCullar should play a role in the Kansas backcourt similar to his role with the Red Raiders a year ago, one in which he averaged a combined 10.1 PPG, 4.6 RPG, and 3.1 APG.

MJ Rice

Yet another top name from that 2022 class, Rice is a player who could’ve very easily ended up being a five-star prospect. The four-star is an athletic wing at 6-foot-5 who will likely see a significant number of minutes for the Jayhawks this season, which will likely come as one of Kansas’ top bench options.

Ernest Udeh Jr

Similar to Rice previously, Udeh is also a four-star prospect who was very much in five-star territory. One of the nation’s top interior players at year ago at 6-foot-10 and 230 pounds, Udeh has all the makings of the next great Kansas Basketball interior presence, and could easily play significant minutes this season at the five.

Zuby Ejiofor

The final member of the Jayhawks recruiting class, Ejiofor comes to Lawrence as a four-star prospect. The 6-foot-8 forward could play a role this season as a freshman as a depth option on the Jayhawks bench.
