Projected Starters

Guard – Mark Armstrong (Freshman)

A four-star prospect from New Jersey, Armstrong likely slides into the starting point guard role, a role that’s recently been mastered by Ryan Arcidiacono and Collin Gillespie, among others. Armstrong rates as a solid scorer and ball distributor who has work to do in developing on the defensive side of the ball.

Guard – Jordan Longino (Sophomore)

Injuries will thrust this former top-60 recruit into the starting lineup to start the year, with Longino hoping to take a big step forward after playing minimally as a freshman. This former four-star recruit ranks as a talented shooter, especially from long range, with tons of potential. If he takes that sophomore step forward, he can be a key part of this offense, especially with his solid frame.

Guard – Caleb Daniels (Senior)

It’s year five for Daniels, and his third season with the Wildcats after a pair of years at Tulane. This talented wing averaged 10.3 points off the bench last season and will have an even more important role in the offense this season. He’ll hope to build off a season where he shot 37% from the 3.

Forward – Brandon Slater (Senior)

Last season saw Slater really develop into an important piece for the Wildcats, and he’ll be back for his fifth and final season in a more important spot than ever. After averaging 8.5 points a game last season, Slater hopes to cause even more damage down low. Slater’s defensive game has been solid and he’ll be a critical piece for Neptune to depend on this year.

Forward – Eric Dixon (Junior)

Dixon returns to anchor this Villanova team after developing into their starting center last season, averaging 9.1 points and 6.4 rebounds a game. He’s one of Villanova’s best scorers, even managing to knock down 48% of his 3-pointers, albeit on very limited opportunities. If Dixon can take another step forward, he could be one of the best players in the Big East.
