Season Outlook

Losing Kennedy Chandler and John Fulkerson is big. Those were two of the key contributors on an SEC Championship team last season. However, what they return from that team is massive and the recruiting class plus transfer of Tyreke Key is good enough to produce at least four significant contributors off of the bench.

This team is ten players deep, has as much college basketball experience as any team in the country, can play a multitude of lineup combinations for different styles of play and we already know they will defend at the highest level. It’s a dangerous team that should be ranked in the top ten coming into the season.

My projection for this team is third in the SEC with a sweet 16 appearance in the big dance and potentially another SEC Tournament championship. They’ll be better than last year but so will Kentucky and Arkansas (one of these three will win the conference, I’m sure).

The Vols will be back and one of the best teams in the SEC once again, but will it be enough to exorcize Rick Barnes’ SEC demons? Time will tell, but I love their chances.
