Predicted Depth Chart

1 – TJ Weeks

2 – Rahsool Diggins

3A – Brandon Martin

3B – RJ Luis (will likely see more time at the 3)

This is a tougher position to project without a clear-cut star like Fernandes in the rotation. There could be some mixing and matching as Martin experiments with different lineups early in the season, but there are a few players that stand out as candidates to be major contributors from the jump.

I mentioned Diggins’ potential to get some time at the 2-spot alongside Fernandes or Thompson at the 1, but beyond him, lefty sniper TJ Weeks (another returning Minuteman who had surgery on a lingering injury this Summer) has been particularly impressive this offseason and could quite possibly be the starter on opening night.

Frank Martin’s son Brandon Martin, a Senior who played one season with Frank at South Carolina, is another player to keep an eye on. His resume isn’t quite as strong as Weeks’ or Diggins’ is, but he was a rotational contributor for a solid Gamecocks team as a Junior (2.4 points and 2.5 rebounds in 11 minutes per game). RJ Luis (a player I’ll discuss further on the next slide) is another player like Diggins who, while likely spending large chunks of his minutes elsewhere, could also get some run at the 2.
