Overall Outlook and Expectations for the Rams

This will be a pivotal season for the Rhode Island Rams.

It would be nice to see Rhody play into the month of March but, the focus is on how the coaching staff will be building for the future.  It will be exciting to see the team on the court, that Coach Archie Miller has been building since his arrival, to get a better understanding of the direction the program is moving.

As far as the schedule goes, Rhody fans can be thrilled to see several talented opponents enter the Ryan Center. We can look forward to the Providence game returning to South County and watching Rhode Island take on the newest member of the conference the Loyola Chicago Ramblers on the road.

The Rams are a younger team this season, however, that shouldn’t stop them from playing well. Last season, the Dayton Flyers were the youngest of 358 programs in Division I College Basketball and finished third in the Atlantic 10.

The Rhody fans should be optimistic that this will be an upgrade from the last few seasons with a new foundation, a young core group of players, and a different coaching staff.

Overall there is still a lot of work to be done, however, the Rams should find some success and we can expect a middle-of-the-pack finish if everyone stays healthy. This team has a lot of players with the potential of having breakout performances and may evolve into household names for the future of the program.

The future is certainly bright in Kingston.
