10. Can anyone stop Gonzaga vs Duke in the Phil Knight Legacy bracket?

On the other bracket in the PK85, you have a pair of headliner teams in Gonzaga and Duke, two programs that have been on top of NCAA Basketball. Both are preseason top-10 teams, though they both lost to Kansas and Texas, respectively this past week and the Bulldogs could lose to Kentucky on Sunday before this event.

The way this bracket is lined up, these two teams can meet up in the finals. Both have very easy opening matchups, with Gonzaga taking on Portland State and Duke facing Oregon State. Assuming there are no issues, the Blue Devils will take on the winner of Xavier vs Florida, while the Bulldogs get either Purdue or West Virginia. All four teams are capable of putting a scare to either the favorites and a massive resume-building opportunity is available for those four.

Duke beat Gonzaga a year ago in the battle between Paolo Banchero and Chet Holmgren but the last time these two faced off in a non-conference tournament was in the Maui Invitational in 2018, where the Bulldogs beat Zion Williamson and the No. 1 Blue Devils in an instant classic showdown.

This potential matchup could very well be just as good as the previous ones and there’s once again, plenty of starpower between Gonzaga and Duke. But as we’ve already seen in some of these multi-team events, upsets are not only possible but for the most part, probable.
