12. Indiana (6-0)

Is Indiana back? The initial answer is that we don’t really know quite yet. The Hoosiers got a nice win at Xavier over a week ago, but have been largely unchallenged to this point in the season. Frankly, this team looks impressive and has taken care of business for the most part, winning all their other games by double-digits, but it might take conference play to start for us to truly understand where the Hoosiers stand.

For now, they can only play the teams on their schedule, which began with an 87-68 win at home against Little Rock back on Wednesday. The Hoosiers didn’t have their best performance, but were playing without star Trayce Jackson-Davis and got a nice 20-point performance from Race Thompson in the win. Two days later the Hoosiers were back on the court again, finishing off the Hoosier Tip-Off Classic with a 90-51 win over Jackson State. A 22-point outing off the bench for Tamar Bates was certainly the highlight in this easy win.

There are no complaints in Bloomington with six wins in six games to start Mike Woodson’s second season at the helm. Certainly one of the early favorites in the Big Ten, Indiana has looked the part early on, surviving with ease to this point, even with Jackson-Davis dealing with his thumb ailment. There are finally more chances for Indiana on the national stage, as they’ll host North Carolina before heading to Rutgers to open Big Ten play next week.
