20. TCU Horned Frogs – Fully healthy roster going forward

The Horned Frogs got off to a rough start, losing to Northwestern State early on and struggling to beat other mid-major teams. A big part of that was the constant in and outs of key players, such as star guard Mike Miles, Emmanuel Miller, and starting point guard Damion Baugh, who was suspended for the first six games from the NCAA.

Nearly 20 games combined have been missed from the trio of key players but they’re finally on the court together and have done no further damage to their resume in the non-conference. If Miles can remain on the court in Big 12 play, TCU has a chance to be a top-10 caliber team going forward.

19. Kentucky Wildcats – Reeves and Fredrick show up against legit foes

It’s been a tale of two halves for Kentucky Basketball in the non-conference for the two “shooters” on the team in Iowa transfer CJ Fredrick and Illinois State transfer Antonio Reeves. Both have shot well from deep against mid-majors but against the top teams such as Gonzaga, Michigan State, and Michigan, they’ve struggled mightily.

What’s interesting is that as a team, the Wildcats rank in the top 15 in NCAA Basketball with 40% from three-point range. But those numbers are heavily skewed against inferior opponents. With SEC play coming up, there aren’t any easy games to overwhelm foes. Reeves and Fredrick, who recently have been coming off the bench, will need to come through.
