2. TCU Horned Frogs – 13-1 (2-0)

The Frogs were down at home by double-digits to start league play against Texas Tech. But this veteran core was able to make the comeback late in the second half and sneak out with a 67-61 victory. Mike Miles had a fantastic game, going for 23 points on 7/12 shooting from the field. Damion Baugh had 14 points and five assists, while forward Emanuel Miller had 16.

It wasn’t the best offensive performance for TCU but apparently, they were saving it up for the recent matchup with Baylor. It was a 40-minute back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading punches. In the end, it was the Horned Frogs who threw the last punch, winning the game, 88-87.

Miles, the Preseason Big 12 Player of the Year, went for 33 points on 12/21 shooting. Forwards Eddie Lampkin and Miller combined for 28 points and 17 rebounds in the frontcourt, while Baugh had 15 points and seven assists. They only made a trio of three-point shots but made 19/23 from the free throw line and shot 56% from inside the arc.

The next two games for TCU are at home against Iowa State and on the road at Texas. Getting these two earlier victories puts them in a good spot in the Big 12 and should be favored versus the Cyclones.
