25. Auburn (12-3)

Auburn is one of these teams whose resume hasn’t exactly been remarkable, though they have accumulated a number of wins, including that 8-0 start to the year. Losses to Memphis and USC back in December are understandable, though Bruce Pearl’s team took a loss this past week that they probably shouldn’t have.

That unfortunate performance came on Wednesday in a 76-64 road loss to Georgia, giving Auburn their first bad loss of the year. The double-digit defeat did see a nice effort from Johni Broome who had 22 points and 12 rebounds on the road. The Tigers got back on track over the weekend with a 72-59 win against #13 Arkansas. Wendell Green Jr. had 19 points while Allen Flanigan had 18 points and 8 rebounds in the much-needed win.

A dreadful start to the week was mended with that performance against the Razorbacks, but there’s still plenty of work ahead for Auburn. This offense has had some truly dreadful performances this season, and their long-range shooting really felled them in Georgia this week. They’ll dance with the Mississippi schools next week, beginning with another road trip to Ole Miss on Tuesday. They sit 2-1 in the SEC, but that loss against Georgia makes it feel much worse than it is.
