4. What is an under-the-radar storyline in the league that few are talking about?

Heiser

An underrated storyline is how dominant the Carolina schools have been on their respective home floors. Clemson, Duke, UNC, Wake Forest, and NC State are a combined 41-1 in home games this season. Even with buy games, that’s quite an impressive mark. Strong home court could wind up being a factor that comes into play for some late-season matchups with postseason implications.

Glasscox

Will Louisville be the first team to go winless in the ACC since Pittsburgh in 2017-2018?

It is extremely difficult and also impressive when a team goes undefeated in conference play the closest a team has been undefeated throughout conference play was Virginia in 2017-2018 when they finished 17-1. I would argue it is also equally as difficult and impressive to go winless in conference play. Pittsburgh was the last to do that in 2017-2018, I believe Louisville has a real chance to be the next team to be part of that kind of history.

Outside of El Ellis and maybe Brandon Huntley-Hatfield they don’t have starting ACC talent on their roster. They almost knocked off Syracuse on Tuesday but showed their inability to finish close games which has plagued them all season. History says they will luck their way into a victory against someone, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they end the season without a win in the ACC this season.

McCormick

Coming into the year, or even last year people were joking around calling the ACC a one-bid league, and you even see that again this year. One under-the-radar storyline is that the ACC is deeper than advertised.

There are some bad teams like every conference, but it really seems like anybody can beat anybody on any given night in the ACC. Would not be shocked to see multiple teams making deep runs in the tournament like last year.
