Atlantic 10 Basketball questions: Key storylines, 2022-23 POY favorites
4. What is an under-the-radar storyline in the league that few are talking about?

I think an under-the-radar storyline is Fordham’s performance thus far under first-year head coach Keith Urgo. The Rams finished 12-1 in non-conference play. This is a significant storyline because the program hadn’t performed this well in years. Through the first three conference games, the Rams are 1-2, with a recent victory over Saint Joseph’s. It will be interesting to see if Fordham can change the narrative and finish in the top half of the standings come March.

Now that the two-way excellence of Dayton’s Toumani Camara is beginning to get proper attention, I’ll dedicate my time to George Mason’s three-point defense. It was the Patriots’ primary weakness last year and is now Top 30 nationally, carrying the team through some offensive rough patches.

Hate to be repetitive, but think this is also Duquesne. I thought they might have gotten exposed by this point but they just keep playing tough and most recently hammered a stout VCU team. Turns out there isn’t a lot there to expose. Elsewhere, I think Loyola’s failures this season are being surprisingly under-discussed. It was supposed to be a tough year for them, but it’s been at another level.
