5. How many bids will this conference get in the NCAA Tournament?

Thedinga

‘Four?’ he says, as he closes his eyes, throwing a dart at the round board in front of him. Arizona and UCLA are absolute locks. After that, Arizona State, USC, and Utah all have a shot at an at-large bid. But for all three of them, there’s a lot of work that still needs to be done. I think the worst-case scenario would be three teams, best is likely five. Four seems like the reasonable middle ground.

Clarry

I believe it’s three again. Clearly, Arizona and UCLA are battling for seeding and placement between the two of them, but it’s hard not to think whoever finishes third won’t have a legit claim to dance considering the lack of stellar mid-major resumes.

Four. UCLA and Arizona already appear to be locks. The third team to finish in the medals in the conference standings (assuming the other two are the Bruins and the Wildcats) should be okay, especially if it’s Utah and they keep winning at an impressive clip. From there, it feels like one more team could sneak in from a dicey bubble picture – USC comes to mind first.
