2. 13-2 run by Kansas snatches victory away from Oklahoma

Like their in-state rival Oklahoma State a week ago, the Sooners had the top-5 Kansas Jayhawks on the ropes on the road. Oklahoma took the lead in the second half and extended it to as much as 10 points late in the game. But somehow, Kansas was able to make a comeback, led by Jalen Wilson and KJ Adams.

The Jayhawks’ late run allowed them to take the lead in the final seconds and win, 79-75. Big 12 Player of the Year favorite Wilson had 17 points but Adams was the star, going for a career-high 22 points on 8/13 shooting. Gradey Dick, who is second on the team in scoring, had just eight points on 1/8 shooting.

While another close home game could be a slight cause for concern, Kansas just continues to find ways to win. And considering the Big 12 has no easy games, all victories should be celebrated. But this is definitely a missed chance for the Sooners, who are definitely on the bubble with a 1-3 record in Quad 1 games and has Texas Tech as its signature victory.

Beating Kansas would’ve been a massive boost for Oklahoma but they let it slip from their grasp, now in a situation where they’ll have to make it up. They’re a good team and should be in the NCAA Tournament picture when it’s all said and done but this one will sting.
