8. Oklahoma State Cowboys – 9-8 (1-4)

Heading into the season, Oklahoma State was viewed as having the worst Big 12 Basketball team on paper. The defense has been strong but it can be a struggle to get to 70 points at times. But in the past week, it turned out 60 points was too much for the program.

At home against Texas, the Cowboys managed just 46 points in the game in a 10-point defeat. Forward Kalib Boone had 16 points and 10 rebounds but the rest of the team had eight made field goals in the game. In the 65-57 defeat at Kansas State, Boone led the way once again with 23 points, with Caleb Asberry scoring 15 points off the bench.

In the last game, OK State scored just 58 points in a 16-point setback to the Baylor Bears. Asberry had 14 points off the bench but this time, Boone was limited to eight points in 18 minutes played while dealing with foul trouble. The Cowboys got next to nothing from anyone else other than those two players offensively including Avery Anderson, the team’s best scorer on the year.

The team looks to end its three-game skid with a home battle against Oklahoma, with Iowa State and Texas coming afterward. If the scoring doesn’t show up soon, it could be a while before they start scoring again.
