Big 12 Basketball power rankings, Kansas, Kansas State on top ahead of clash
7. Oklahoma Sooners – 11-6 (2-3)
No team in Big 12 Basketball has been in more close games than the Sooners, who could’ve won or lost any of the five games in the final minutes. They got an overtime victory over Texas Tech over a week ago, with Milos Uzan and Jalen Hill each scoring 18 points in the 68-63 win.
Oklahoma was at Kansas and looked to be the better team for most of the game, with a double-digit lead in the second half. Unfortunately. they couldn’t hold on, losing to the Jayhawks, 79-75. Grant Sherfield had 25 points, while Tanner Groves had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Sherfield, who leads the Sooners with 17.6 ppg on the season, had another big game in the 77-76 win over West Virginia. He led all scorers with 22 points, while Hill had 14 on 5/5 shooting from the field. Uzan, who has become one of the top freshmen in the league, added 11 points, nine rebounds, and five assists.
Oklahoma looks to find some kind of groove and make it two straight, going on the road at Oklahoma State. After that is a home matchup with Baylor and a major test in the backcourt for both Sherfield and Uzan.
