6. Baylor Bears – 12-5 (2-3)

After an 0-3 start in Big 12 Basketball play, the Bears were looking very vulnerable. Not when it comes to being at risk for missing the NCAA Tournament but more as a genuine Final Four contender. The good news is that they had two games that were very winnable last week and took care of business in both.

In the 83-78 road win over West Virginia, freshman guard Keyonte George went off, going for a season-high 32 points on 10/18 shooting, including 5/9 from three-point range. Adam Flagler had 19 points, while Jalen Bridges had a good game against his former team, producing 10 points and 11 rebounds.

It was an easy win over Oklahoma State in the most recent game, with Baylor winning, 74-58. George was the lowest-scoring starter this time around with eight points but did have eight rebounds and five assists. The other four were in double figures, with LJ Cryer having 16 points and Flagler having 11 points and eight assists.

The Bears look to carry the momentum on the road, taking on both Texas Tech and Oklahoma. They may be two bottom-half teams in the Big 12 but for Baylor to have any hope of staying in the regular-season title race, they’ll have to win these types of games.
