9. Kansas Jayhawks -16-3 (5-2 Big 12)

Kansas was alone in first place entering the week and unbeaten in Big 12 play. But there were two things that were going to bite them at some point; winning all of the close games after trailing double figures and struggling at home.

Against Kansas State, the Jayhawks struggled with the crazy road environment in the rivalry game, trailing early on. But once again, the reigning national champions came back to make it an incredible finish, taking the game into overtime. But this time around, Kansas couldn’t get the close win, falling 83-82 in OT. Jalen Wilson had a National Player of the Year-type performance, going for a career-high 38 points and nine rebounds. KJ Adams had 17 points while point guard Dajuan Harris dished out 11 assists.

Maybe Kansas was still down after the rivalry loss because, at home against TCU, they trailed early once again and came out flat. But the Frogs refused to allow the Jayhawks to make any kind of comeback, up by 20+ in the first half and blowing them out, 83-60. Wilson had 30 points but no one else really showed up on either end.

The Jayhawks better get over these losses soon because they now go on the road for two very difficult games. The first is at Baylor in league play, before going to play at Kentucky in the Big 12/SEC Challenge.
